Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 30 years of the State status of the Kyrgyz Language, Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in collaboration with Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation successfully organized 3rd Kyrgyz Ambassador National Mas-Wrestling Championship and a Photo Exhibition at Gujranwala, Pakistan.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev has a keen interest for promoting Sports and Culture Diplomacy in Pakistan, in this contest the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic successfully organized the Kyrgyz Ambassador National Mas-Wrestling Championship consecutively for the third time. Participants from all over Pakistan (South & Central Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit) as well as from USA, Russia and the Kyrgyz Republic participated in the 3rd National Mas-Wrestling Championship 2019.
H.E. Mr. Erik Beishembiev in his speech said “Today I see so many athletes coming from all over Pakistan to this beautiful and rapidly developing city of Gujranwala, who will engage in a very old sport game Mas-Wrestling, which originates from Siberia and now becoming very popular in the world. In Kyrgyz language this game is called Taiak Tartysh meaning stick pulling and is mentioned in an ancient 1000 years old Kyrgyz epic called Manas”.
To promote the Cultural Diplomacy a beautiful cultural dance was performed at the championship. At the end of the Championship, the Chief Guest presented Medals, trophies, and certificates to the winners.
