Sialkot: The 8th National Mas-Wrestling Championship was held with great enthusiasm, marking a milestone in Pakistan’s sports development. Young athletes from across the country displayed exceptional strength and skill, further advancing the sport’s international recognition.
Chief Guest H.E. Avazbek Atakhanov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan, praised Pakistani athletes, stating:
“Mas-Wrestling’s promotion in Pakistan is a commendable step that will not only develop sports but also strengthen Pak-Kyrgyz ties. Kyrgyzstan fully supports its growth, ensuring Pakistani athletes succeed globally.”

The event was attended by Brigadier Azam Effendi, Tehsil Sports Officer Adnan Saleem, MPA Faisal Akram, Chairman USKT Faisal Manzoor, Haif Aizaz, Malik Muhammad Usman, and Nawab Furqan Khan, President of the Pakistan Mas-Wrestling Federation.
Nawab Furqan Khan expressed his joy, calling the championship a key milestone in promoting Mas-Wrestling in Pakistan.
“Our mission is to engage youth in positive activities, create world-class sports opportunities, and introduce international sports culture in Pakistan. We are committed to elevating our young athletes to global platforms.”
He also highlighted the event’s role in strengthening Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan sports diplomacy, praising the dedication of athletes and organizers.
In his closing remarks, Nawab Furqan Khan thanked the Kyrgyz Ambassador, guests, athletes, and media, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to hosting more international competitions to promote Mas-Wrestling and other traditional sports.
